EX-CELTIC ace Paolo Di Canio will return to Glasgow to take part in an 'evening with ' style event.

The former Hoops footballer will be taking part in the event at the city's Hilton on September 6.

Those behind the event said: "Paolo Di Canio is one of football’s great characters. The fiery Italian played with a passion that was always threatening to overspill into chaos. It helped make him the fantastic player he was. Always playing on the edge.

"Celtic fans know this all too well. Paolo signed for Celtic in 1996 and in a season dogged by controversy he scored 15 goals and was crowned the SPFA Player of the Year.

"Join us on Friday, September 6 at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow where Paolo will be appearing alongside award-winning podcaster - Paul John Dykes for a special intimate event.

"Dykes will be leading Di Canio through an entertaining journey through the eventful highs and lows of his time at Celtic, sharing his personal stories along the way.
