A murder inquiry has been launched after a man who was abducted and assaulted in North Lanarkshire later died.
It comes after police were called to a disturbance within a house in Frew Street, Airdrie, at around 12.30am on Monday.

The 59-year-old man who lives at the address was found injured a short time later on Rankin Crescent in Greengairs.
He had earlier been forced into a dark-coloured car.
The man died yesterday afternoon.
Officers said “extensive inquiries” were being carried out.
