MUSIC legend Barbara Dickson OBE will headline this year's BBC Proms in the Park at the Glasgow Green.

The singer will be the star attraction at the event on Saturday, September 14.  Presented by Jamie MacDougall, the event will feature other artists and guests who will join BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (SSO), conducted by Stephen Bell.

Barbara’s career to date spans the worlds of folk, musical theatre, pop, and acting.

Starting out as part of the Scottish folk scene of the 1960s that included Gerry Rafferty and Billy Connolly, her career took a turn when she was spotted by Willy Russell and went on to appear in the hit musical Blood Brothers and later Spend Spend Spend for which she won an Olivier Award.

She has also acted in a variety of TV Dramas, including Taggart and Band of Gold.

Barbara’s duet with Elaine Paige ‘I Know Him So Well’ from the hit musical Chess is the Guinness World Record biggest selling female duet of all time.

BBC Proms in the Park in Glasgow Green will be shown live on the BBC Scotland channel, Saturday, September 14, 7.30 to 9.00 pm
