A FIRE has broken next to the city's Scottish Event Campus.
The blaze started in a skip at the Finnieston entertainment complex and staff said that they had seen youths in the area prior to the incident.
One worker from the site said: “It was just the skip. The fire brigade had it out pretty quickly. Just some wee guys trying to be smart, the usual. The smoke was mental though.”
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Event Campus confirmed that the fire was in a small skip.
She added that the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance and 'everything was under control'.
The Scottish Event Campus later tweeted:
Announcement: A skip caught fire in an external area of our Campus today. Huge thanks to our friends at Scottish Fire and Rescue for their swift response. The fire is now out!
