ONE of the main highlights of the Vale of Clwyd calendar is the Denbigh Show.

This year's show will be taking place this Saturday, August 24 at Lon Felin Field, Ystrad Road, Denbigh.

The Denbigh Show is an outdoor traditional family event that offers a great variety of entertainment, while bringing together a whole host of local organisations in celebration of the best of the town.

All of the fun gets underway at 11am and once again there's an interesting and varied range of activities and displays to suit all age groups.

This year’s headline act is Clown Bluey & Co.

Clown Bluey, with his clown partner Conk the Clown, are international clowns who, over the last 30 years, have performed in no fewer than 34 countries.

Their unique and fun style of clowning has brought them many awards, including the Clowns International best slapstick award.

They have performed in New Zealand, Sri Lanka, India, Monte Carlo, Poland, Romania, Sicily, the Caribbean and most of Europe!

People will be able to see them in the main arena with Clown Bluey’s Crazy Fire Engine, part of the the Bonkers Fire Brigade and the duo will also be mingling about the crowd as crazy policemen.

Incorporated into the Denbigh Show will be the 77th annual Denbigh Flower Show.

As always, the flower show will offer visitors a huge marquee full of all kinds of flowers, fruit and vegetables, paintings, handcraft, art, photography and much more, with over 60 cups and trophies for the winners.

The Wizard of Conwy will be making an appearance at the show.

This mystic figure will be crossing the county line into Denbighshire to thrill and enthral with his close-up street magic.

A range of classic cars and motorcycles from exhibitors all over North Wales and beyond will have a static display throughout the day. With about 50 exhibits, there is bound to be something that will jog your memory of days gone by.

The Circus Avago area will give people the chance to run their own circus – completely free.

Those in attendance can try walking the tightrope, riding unicycles, juggling, diabolo, plate spinning, stilts, chinese ribbons and much more in this non-stop session, promising fun for all the family.

Admission on the day is £7 for adults, with concessions at £5 and children aged 16 years and under are admitted free of charge.
