Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has aimed a dig at Rangers after last night's Billy Boys episode of Peaky Blinders.

BBC One's popular drama welcomed the Shelby family's newest foes to Birmingham from Glasgow.

Controversial razor gang The Billy Boys were introduced with their song which includes the lyrics "We're up to our knees in Fenian blood", and Collymore took a pop at Gers - claiming he heard fans sing the same song against St Mirren on Sunday.

Posting a tweet, Collymore said: "Billy Boys being sung on Peaky Blinders from circa 1930.

"Haven't heard it sung since at least...

"Yesterday at St Mirren," with a laughing-face emoji.

His post racked up thousands of likes and shares with plenty of people ready to give their opinions.

One slammed: "Except it wasn't. Bore off."

Another blasted back: "Bulls***."

One wrote: "Obsessed with Rangers".

A fourth replied: "Good to know you're still watching."

Collymore's comments come less than a week after Rangers were sanctioned by UEFA and told they'll have to close a section of Ibrox for this week's Legia Warsaw clash in the Europa League.

Meanwhile, on Peaky Blinders, fans were lift cringing at the Glasgow accent portrayed by Irish actor Brian Gleeson.
