THE votes have been coming in thick and fast for the nominees hoping to win the coveted title of Glasgow’s Favourite Business.

So thick and fast, in fact, that the lead has changed hands several times.

There are just three days left to cast your vote for one of the six contenders: SSE Hydro, Battlefield Rest, Loganair, Eusebi Deli and Restaurant, Scottish Ballet and SWG3. The six have all been encouraging their customers to vote for them.

The award, sponsored by the Evening Times, is part of the 2019 Glasgow Business Awards, organised by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and with Royal Bank of Scotland as the main sponsor.

The awards will be presented at a black-tie dinner at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel on October 3.

“We’re delighted with the response to the call for votes for the Favourite Business category,” said a spokesman for the Chamber yesterday.

“There are times when one nominee has been in the lead, but another contender then takes pole position, followed by yet another.

“The six contenders themselves are a terrific cross-section of Glasgow’s thriving business sector, and whoever wins will be a worthy champion indeed.”

The awards dinner will also see winners being announced in the following categories: International Trade, Best Performing Large Business, Best Performing Small-Medium Business, Fair Work (1–50 employees), Fair Work (51 employees or over), Healthy and Active Workplace, Sustainable Development, Innovation in Business, Green Champion, Entrepreneur of the Year, Excellence in Communications, Family Business of the Year and Young Business Person of the Year.

Glasgow Chamber’s Lifetime Achievement award will celebrate long term contributions to the city’s landscape.
