Fans of the London smash-hit Misérables will be able to enjoy the musical close to home after it was announced it will be staged in Glasgow for the first time.
The Boubil and Schönberg musical will run from June 3 to 27 2020 at the Theatre Royal - the first time a Cameron Mackintosh show has been staged in the city more than 15 years. The last was Miss Saigon at the King's Theatre in 2004.
The production was launched in 2009 to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary and inspired a hugely successful movie version starring Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne.
The score features the songs, I Dreamed a Dream, On my Own, Stars and Do You Hear the People Sing and the show is one of the most popular musicals world-wide, having been seen by more than 120 million people worldwide in 52 countries and in 22 languages.
