Council chief executive, Annemarie O'Donnell, is meeting with police and the organisers of two Irish republican group parades planned for Saturday.
Police Scotland are providing updated advice on the parades in the wake of the rioting in Govan when hundreds of protesters turned up to disrupt the Irish Unity parade by the James Connolly Flute Band.

Ms O'Donnell is meeting with the Cairde na hEireann Calton Republicans who have a parade planned for Saturday at 1.30 from Calton to the city centre.
She will also meet the Friends of Irish Republican Prisoners Welfare Association who have a parade from Blythswood Square to Barrolwands Park at 3pm.
Police Scotland will also attend and they will discuss the updated advice.
A decision is expected tomorrow once meetings are concluded on whether the parades will be allowed to go ahead.
