Stars of the small screen have been spotted on Glasgow's streets as filming for a new drama got under way in the city. 

Line of Duty's Martin Compston was amongst those in front of the camera in Glasgow on Tuesday, including on Buchanan Street. 

Actor David Hayman was also involved in the shoot, which travelled down to Brunswick Street and Wilson Street. 

BBC drama The Nest is the project in question, and will be shot on location across the city over the next few weeks.

Line of Duty's Martin Compston was due back on home turf as filming for his new drama got under way in Glasgow, and also stars Peaky Blinders actor Sophie Rundle.

The five-part series will explore a surrogacy pact between a wealthy couple and a teenage girl, and has been written by Glaswegian Nicole Taylor.

She was the screenwriter on Wild Rose which was about an aspiring country star from Glasgow.

Centred on the teenager’s decision to carry the pair’s baby for them, The Nest is billed by the BBC as an emotional thriller from Bafta-winning writer Nicole Taylor.
