HUTCHESON’S City Grill is to host a evening celebrating the food and fine wine of Argentina.

Guests will be taken on a world voyage to the most famous wine region, Mendoza on the one-off five-course foodie experience.

The event is being run in partnership with Bodega Argento - the largest organic wine producer in the area and marks Hutcheson’s sixth Uncorked wine series set in the 158 Club Lounge.

This region is renowned for its sun-kissed vineyards set in a backdrop of snow-capped Andes mountains.

Head chef Jean-Paul Giraud has created a five-course tasting menu with matched Argentinian wines that Rusk and Rusk say will showcase the hallmarks of the Argento style - fruit purity, vibrancy and elegance.

The menu starts with Scallop and Prawn Cevice with pickled cucumber infused with orange and coriander and golden endive Evoo.

It will be followed by herb crusted hake with sautéed fennel and spinach and pink peppercorn beurre blanc.

The third course will be grilled lamb cutlet with spiced vegetable diced ragu, smoked Malbec jus and mint oil, followed by char grilled 36 day aged rib eye steak with hand cut parmesan and truffle chips. The meal will end with Pecorino cheese with black cherry and rosemary compote and hand made oatcakes.

Featured wines include Argento Reserva Organic Malbec - with black fruits, violet flowers and a velvety finish, a ruby red, rich and spicy Reserve Cabernet Franc and Bodega Argento’s beautifully balanced, sophisticated and aromatic Malbec Rose.

The night will be hosted by UK Ambassador Pippa Townley from Bodega Argento of Blends Wine Estates.

Co-Founder of Rusk & Rusk, James Rusk said: “The winemaking team at Bodega Argento are true masters of their art, captivating the vibrancy of Buenos Aires and the renowned wine region of Mendoza.

“Their wines are not only celebrated the world over but they are organic, elegant and incredibly created on their winery at the foot of the Andes mountain range.

“We can’t wait to welcome them to Hutchesons and let our guests try more of Argento’s award-winning portfolio.

Tickets for Uncorked Series N0.6 - “Discover Argentina, a land of contrasts and extreme altitudes” are on sale now.

The five-course wine tasting dinner is priced £50pp and starts at 7pm on Wednesday 25th September.
