Celtic fans have been changing their Twitter names in honour of new signing Boli Bolingoli in a bizarre social media trend.

Hoops' fans seem to have taken a shining to the Belgian defender, who joined the club on July 3 on a four-year deal.

And after an interview with Celtic TV, in which the 24-year-old described captain Scott Brown as a "legend", fans seem to be returning the compliment.

Celtic TV, Celtic FC Women, Celtic TV and the Celtic Shop have all got involved.

And the trend has even gone further afield, with Bolingoli's cousin and Inter Milan star Romelu Lukaku changing his name too.

The comments came after the defender praised his "real captain" Scott Brown.

He told Celtic TV: "Scott Brown is a big leader, he's a legend for me.

"How he plays the game, you can only look up to him. In the derby... I was looking at him like 'damn, that's a real captain'... (and) off the pitch he's a nice guy."
