A man has been arrested for allegedly carrying an offensive weapon ahead of this afternoon's Irish Republican marches.

Cops confirmed they had nicked a 33-year-old man.

A huge police presence, including officers in riot gear, is currently on site at Clyde Street as the parades begin to wind down.

It is not yet known what type of weapon he allegedly had on hand.

And police warned those in attendance to stay out of trouble or be "dealt with".

A spokesperson for the force said: "Significant police presence in Glasgow today for the public processions.

"Officers have already arrested a 33-year-old man for carrying an offensive weapon.

"We want to re-emphasise that anyone intent on becoming involved in any kind of criminal behaviour will be dealt with."
