A lorry driver has been left with a broken jaw after a serious and unprovoked attack at a Lanarkshire truck stop.
Officers are appealing for witnesses after the 55-year-old man was assaulted while stopping for breakfast at Route 74 in Lesmahagow at around 7.20am on Thursday, September 5.
He was left needing hospital treatment for his injuries, including a broken jaw and bruised shoulder after the incident.

There are no details yet of the man who committed the assault.
Detective Constable Colin Pendrich at Wishaw said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have been using the services at Route 74 in Teiglum Road in Lesmahagow to get in touch if they saw this incident on Thursday morning.
"This appears to have been an unprovoked attack which has left the victim with a serious facial injury.".
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage from the area is urged to call police on 101 quoting reference number 0485 of September 5.
