A Glasgow pensioner dying from a progressive lung disease has issued an emotional appeal to meet his hero before he passes away.

John Mcdougall, 80, is currently being cared for in a hospice in England's West Midlands.

Aware of his situation, battling with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, the dad-of-three is in a desperate bid to fulfil one of his final wishes - to meet Liverpool hero 'and fellow Scot, Sir King Kenny Dalglish".

In a picture shared by The Myton Hospices on Twitter, John can be seen surrounded by Liverpool jerseys - some of which have been signed by players.
