Concerns are growing over the whereabouts of a vulnerable man missing from Rutherglen.

Simon Handlin, 40, has not been seen after vanishing from his home on Berwick Drive in the South Lanarkshire town on Wednesday.

It's thought Simon did not have a mobile phone or money on him at the time.

He is described as white, 5ft7inches in height, of medium build, receding brown hair, blue eyes and a scar above the eyebrows between his eyes.

He was wearing a black ‘Craghopper’ outdoor jacket, a red/burgundy Parachute Regiment top, blue jeans and black trainers.

Sergeant Evelyn Struthers, Rutherglen Police Office, said: “Simon hasn’t been in touch with his family for a couple of days which causes us and his family concern.

“We don’t believe he has any money nor a mobile phone with him and none of his friends have seen or heard from him recently.

“We would ask anyone who has seen him since Wednesday or who may know where he is to contact police as soon as possible.

“We would also ask people, especially around his home and in the general Rutherglen area which is where he tends to keep to, look out for him when they can."

Anyone with information is urged to contact police via 101 quoting reference number 3322 of September 11.
