Friends and family of an Irvine boy who died earlier this week have posted emotional tributes online. 

The tragic man from Irvine, named locally as Aidan Rae, is said to have died on Thursday evening. 

Following the news breaking on social media, Aidan's mother Louise posted a photo of her with her son with blue lovehearts, accompanied by the message: "Ma second born."

Aidan's sister Jennifer also posted photographs of her brother on Facebook, with dozens of those who know the family sending their sympathies.

Those who knew him also wrote about their devastation following Aidan's death.

Lisa Keogh said Aidan was "too good for this horrible world". 

Chelsay Scott wrote: "Still can't get my head around that you're gone man.

"Was like a brother and it’s broke me to find out that you've left. Couldn’t believe it. Love you so much.

"Was such a lovely boy - was always there for me when I needed someone to talk to. Always in my heart no matter what dafty you're amazing I love you. RIP big man."

Sharon Gibb added: "R.I.P Aidan Darren Rae. One of the funniest people definitely always knew how to have a laugh and be there for people. 

"I will cherish our memories. Fly high."

Under one picture on social media, the mother of tragic teenager Connor Luke, who also died earlier this week, wrote: " Heartbreaking, there’s no words, the pain's horrible."
