DRAMATIC images have emerged of firefighters tackling a blaze in Barrhead.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to the town on Monday night to tackle the inferno which was in an open grass area near Glennifer Braes.
There was no casualties but dramatic images from our reader Mr McDougall of Barrhead show the intensity of the blaze.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 9.10pm on Monday, September 16 to reports of a fire in the open in Barrhead.
“Operations Control mobilised one fire engine to the town’s Fereneze Avenue, where firefighters were met by a well-developed fire which had taken hold of a section of gorse.
“Firefighters extinguished the fire and left the scene after making the area safe.
“There were no casualties.”
