Gardeners from all over Scotland displayed their giant vegetables at the Strathclyde Leek and Onion Show today.
The show was held at Cardwell Garden Centre, near Gourock, and featured 25 categories of vegetables.
Amongst the 135 entries to the event, Niall Currie from Rothesay, on the Isle of Bute, was declared the overall winner for his vegetable display.

Visitors to the centre were able to see the enormous vegetables ranging from potatoes, cauliflowers, beetroot to onions, carrots and leeks as big as three feet.
Paul Carmichael, Cardwell’s retail general manager, said: “Once again, the green-fingered gardeners did themselves proud with a fantastic display of giant and perfectly-formed vegetables.
“And if our chefs in our Patio Restaurant had got a hold of the veg on display, they could have made the biggest pot of soup you’ve ever seen!”
