This is the moment a Hearts-supporting police officer seemingly forgot where he was as he celebrated his side's goal in this afternoon's Edinburgh derby.

The cop was spotted with his hands in the air as towering striker Uche Ikpeazu rolled the defender to score as he helped the Jambos turnaround a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1 at Easter Road.

Footage captured on Sky Sports shows the officer go to celebrate before appearing to remember he was at work in front of fellow away supporters.

Posted on social media, one fan captioned a short clip: "A wee Jambo police officer", with a laughing emoji.

Fans loved the footage and were quick to praise the policeman.

One laughed: "That's brilliant, well spotted."

Another joked: "Hahaha love the reaction when he realises where he is."

One said: "His team scored in a derby, can't be too harsh on him."

A fourth added: "He soon realised", with a laughing face.

Others weren't so convinced he was a Hearts fan - with some speculating he is a Hibs supporter who thought his team might've cleared the shot.

One said: "Looks more like he was raging the goal went in TBF".

Another agreed, saying: "I think he's a Hibee, I think he thought defence were clearing it until it went passed the keeper then he went 'yeah...aw s****'".

Hibs led through a Stevie Mallan wonder-goal before Ikpeazu scored to level.

Aaron Hickey, 17, bagged the winner late on to drag Hearts off the foot of the table and heap pressure on Hibs boss Paul Heckingbottom.
