Glasgow has been nominated for the 'World's Leading Festival and Event Destination' in the World Travel Awards.
The nomination recognises the major events and festivals that place in Glasgow in the past few years.
It also highlights the work of Glasgow Life which delivers cultural and sporting events on behalf of Glasgow City Council.
World Travel Awards identify excellence in the global travel and tourism industry and have been taking place since 1993.
They are presented in three tiers - country, regional and world - with world nominations featuring winners from the regional awards.
In June Glasgow was awarded Europe's Leading Festival and Event Destination of 2019, qualifying for a nomination in the world tier.

Glasgow beat out cities such as Barcelona, Venice, London, Budapest and others in the regional tier.
Sion Rapson, World Travel Awards vice president, said: "This is an acknowledgement of the city’s unrivalled commitment to raising the standards of its tourism offerings."
Distinguished events that provided the basis for the nomination include the Glasgow 2018 European Championships which brought over 500,000 attendees to the city.
Alongside sport, the city’s leading cultural event programme also played an integral role, especially the world-leading music festival Celtic Connections.
