TRAGIC murder victim Liam Hendry's brother has taken to social media to say his sibling was not involved in any fighting prior to his death.

Heartbroken Marc Hendry said the 18-year-old was an 'innocent young boy that was a victim of a senseless act of violence'.

It comes after media reports suggested that the popular Celtic fan had been involved in a feud.

Marc said: "Just to clarify Liam wasn’t involved in any of the fighting down here and never has been.

"He was simply having a drink with his pals in a house and they went to see what was going on.

"The reporting on TV makes it sound as if he was involved.

"Just want everyone to know exactly how he was an innocent young boy that was a victim of senseless act of violence.

"Don’t want his name involved with any things of that nature."

The teenager died after he was deliberately hit by a white van in Barrowfield Street in the city's East End on Sunday morning.

The attack also left a second man, 30, fighting for his life in hospital.

Police are treating his death as murder. Detective Inspector Greig Wilkie, of Shettleston CID, previously said that a van was driven deliberately at the group - and the tragic teen happened to be part of the group on the street at the time.

Marc also shared an image of his close-knit family with the caption, "A family once happy now broken."
