Jim Duffy has opened up on THAT tussle with Neil Lennon during the latter's time at Hibs - claiming the Celtic boss hasn't lost his edge.

The pair clashed back in 2017 during a Hibs clash with Duffy's then-club Greenock Morton at Easter Road.

A melee ensued after a nasty challenge by Kudus Oyenuga on Jordon Forster and both Duffy and his counterpart were sent to the stands.

The brawl was poured over for weeks and Lennon remained furious until the pair met again in the return match at Cappielow around a fortnight later.

Duffy at the time played the incident down but has now explained his views further on Bhoys v Bluenoses podcast.

Recalling the game, Duffy said: "It was just a last minute incident.

"It was an important match for a variety of reasons at that time, Morton were trying to get into the playoffs and Hibs were trying to win the league.

"It was 0-0 and there were a couple little things had happened leading up to it, then one of my players went in and it was a bad tackle.

"Neil was very opinionated about what should've been done, I was opinionated, we got into a bit of a shouting match and we were both sent to the stands.

"I never really thought much more of it, it was over and done as far as I was concerned but the media seemed to make such a big deal about it which I couldn't believe.

"I've been involved in football for a long time and never been involved in anything like that.

"It was two guys in the heat of the moment, in the very last seconds of the match having a bit of an argument, telling each other to go and do what they want to do with a few expletives thrown in, then finished.

"But, listen, if you're passionate and want to stick up for your team that's what you do, I don't have any problem with it.

"It's not the first manager I've had an argument with and I'm sure it'll not be the last one."

Lennon has recently told how he believes he's mellowed out through experience.

But Duffy knows his pal well and will know the current Celtic manager hasn't completely lost his mojo.

He continued: "There's still an edge to [Lennon], you don't want to be known as a good loser.

"You can be a magnanimous winner and you can accept losing at times, but you don't want losing to be part of your makeup.

"Lennon is a high-profile manager with Celtic and Hibs so when you're in that spotlight you're going to draw more attention than other managers.

The pair have long since buried the hatchet - in fact, it didn't take long at all.

Duffy and Lennon took in a gig just a few short months after their falling-out.

But the now-Dumbarton boss did consider one alternative.

Duffy joked: "We went to see Noel Gallagher a couple of months after that and I gave Neil and his wife a lift home.

"I was tempted to drop him off in the middle of Maryhill and give a couple of my pals a shout, but I dropped him off at the house."
