BORNA BARISIC is confident Rangers will learn from their costly mistakes against Young Boys ahead of the crucial double-header with Porto.

Steven Gerrard’s side missed the chance to move top of Group G last night as the Swiss champions came from behind to earn a dramatic 2-1 win.

Feyenoord recovered from their defeat at Ibrox a fortnight ago to see off section favourites Porto, who host Rangers in their next match later this month.

Boss Gerrard was critical of the individual mistakes that cost his side dear but Barisic reckons the Gers have shown enough to be confident going forward.

He said: “At the end, of course we are disappointed because a game where we were leading 1-0 went to 2-1 and we lost. Young Boys scored two goals because of our own mistakes.

“We need to realise that this is the Europa League and it’s a high level and if you make a mistake then these teams will punish you.

“That’s what happened and that’s why we lost the chance to take home any points.

“Everybody knows this is a higher level and you cannot commit the type of mistakes that we did. I believe that is the process, we need to learn from this.

“I saw that Feyenoord won their game with Porto so now every team is sitting on three points. We you look at the table and see that then maybe it’s not so bad.

“Yes, of course I saw enough in this performance to believe we can achieve a result against Porto.

“Who you play against Europa League teams then you need to look at all of the details.

“I believe we can go through to the next stage and progress from this group but we need to be better in some areas. In the Europa League if we make mistakes then we’ll be punished but that’s the process, we need to learn. I think in the next game we’ll be much better.”
