The First Minister has said the women affected by the increase in the state pension age have been “robbed”.

Following the high Court judgement in England that said the Government was entitled to take the decision Nicola Sturgeon said the Government should reverse the policy.

Ms Sturgeon said: “I’m disappointed in the court judgement. These women shouldn’t have had to be in court. The UK Government has effectively robbed women and it’s disgraceful.

“They should reverse this policy and give back to the women what is rightfully theirs.

“When people save for pension they have a right to expect that what they get.”
