A MAN was found unconscious after an attack in a Govanhill street.

Police are investigating the assault which happened on Annette Street in the area on Sunday at around 7.05 pm. 

The force said the 34-year-old was found by a member of the public who contacted emergency services.

He has received treatment for lacerations to his thighs and his abdomen. He has been released following treatment.

Officers believe the man may have been a victim of an attack and are appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact them.

They have been reviewing CCTV footage and while it does not show the man in the footage, it does show several people in the area at the time.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in that location at that time. In particular, there is a group of youths near to where the man was found and officers are directly appealing to them to get in touch as they may have seen something which could assist the investigation and help officers establish what has happened to the man.
