Glasgow was left buzzing earlier this week at the news the ballot for the Christmas light switch on was officially open.

And things might be about to get a lot more exciting - with the Christmas market dates officially announced for 2019.

The festive countdown is well and truly on before George Square and St Enoch Square turn into winter wonderlands.

Like always, there will be a selection of warm street food, a German bar offering alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, the traditional carousel and the iconic Big Wheel - making sure everyone is entertained.
