Masked thugs burst through the doors of a hairdressers and demanded cash from a staff member in a terrifying attempted robbery in Coatbridge, police have said.
Two suspects raided the business on Rowan Place at around 4:10pm on Sunday, October 6, however left empty handed.
No one was injured in the incident, however a staff member was left "badly shaken" by the ordeal.
Police are keen to trace the individuals involved and have asked anyone with any information to come forward.
One suspect was described as wearing a blue hoodie, blue tracksuit bottoms and had a rucksack.
The other was said to be wearing a grey top and grey tracksuit bottoms by eyewitnesses.
Detective Sergeant Graeme Lawrence, of Coatbridge CID, said: “Thankfully no one was injured but a staff member was left shaken by the incident."
“We are eager to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen these men before or after the incident."
"Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2570 of October 6, or make an anonymous call to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
