Police have launched an appeal to trace a man missing from the Easterhouse area of the city.

Concerned family members reported last seeing Paul Docherty at around 7am on Monday, October 7.

The 41-year-old works in the Charing Cross area of the city and is known to travel by train to and from his workplace.

He is described as white, around 6'3, with a stocky build, black hair and a black, greying beard.

He normally wears glasses and was wearing a dark, waist length jacket, dark trousers, dark coloured shoes and carrying a backpack at the time of his disappearance.

He may also have been wearing a green New York Yankees baseball cap.

Officers say a positive sighting of Mr Docherty was confirmed at the Lochs shopping centre at 2pm on Monday and are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen him since then.

Sergeant Kevin Dougall said: “It is entirely out of character for Paul to go missing and we are eager to trace him as soon as possible. His family are worried about him and urge him to get in touch.

“We are making enquiries to trace Paul as soon as possible and would ask anyone who knows of his current whereabouts, or has any information about him, to contact Police Scotland immediately on 101, quoting incident 0088 of October 8."
