STIRLING'S up and coming tennis star Rosie Sterk is the latest talent to join to feature in the #StirlingShines campaign with the Thistles Centre.

The 16-year-old from Bridge of Allan has had a meteoric rise over the last two years, culminating in Rosie winning the Scottish Junior Open Championship this month.

Three hundred of the most talented young players from across Great Britain took part in the Championship and Rosie battled all the way to the number one spot.

And earlier this month she won the UK final of the British Tie Break Tens event at Roehampton in London. This is a major national event which saw her compete against regional winners from across the country.

Rosie is now heading to China next month to take part in the ultra-prestigious WTA Future Stars programme - the only British female player to do so.

She will take part in a workshop led by Judy Murray, and play on the same court as the top eight female players in the world including Wimbledon Ladies Champion 2019 Simona Halep.

Understandably jubilant after such an epic summer, Rosie said: “Winning the British Tie Break Tens in London is an unbelievable development to what has so far been a whirlwind year. I still can’t believe it.

“I have worked so hard to get to this point and to now be heading to Shenzhen in China next month really is a dream come true.

“It will be the trip of a lifetime and so inspiring to be in the company of the world’s most successful and iconic tennis legends.”

After her #StirlingShines shoot, she added: “I was honoured and proud to be invited to take part in the campaign.

“This is the first shoot I have done, but I loved every minute of it.

“It was such a treat having the opportunity to be styled by the team at Thistles and modelling some of my favourite fashion looks.”
