A masked man carried out a terrifying baseball bat attack at a leading Glasgow concert venue.

The thug targeted Broadcast in Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street on September 30, according to the Sunday Mail.

He smashed glasses and beer pumps, causing drinkers to flee the venue at around 8.45pm.

Although there was no live concert at the time, the bar was said to be busy with customers.

“This was quite a shocking event," a staff member, who asked not to be named, told the Sunday Mail. "There was a fairly significant amount of damage to the bar, particularly to the front window.

"We were very lucky that no one was injured.

"Before he left, he smashed an interior window and then smashed the front windows. We had to close the bar for the night because there was so much damage.

"The staff were terrified. Some were trapped behind the bar and this guy was working his way down towards where they were.

"In that moment, they didn’t know if he was coming for them next.”

Extra security was hired following the incident, and Police Scotland confirmed they were investigating.
