AN EAST End arts and entertainment venue has been granted a licence to sell alcohol from 6pm to 11pm daily.
Rogart Street Campus in Bridgeton, which provides studio and office space had applied to the licensing board to sell alcohol from 11am each day but this was rejected following concerns from health and social care.
Elaina Smith of the Health and Social Care partnership said: “This is an area with a high percentage of alcohol related health harm.
“It is more than the average rate for Glasgow and is 258 per cent above the Scottish rate.
“We ask that this premise only be licensed during events.”
Rogart Street Campus, which has a restaurant on site, also hosts art exhibitions with live music from string quartets.
Alcohol will only be available to those having a meal and children must be accompanied by an adult.
