A murder probe has been launched following the death of a man in Maryhill.

Police are appealing for information after the body of Steven Clark was found within a flat on Carrbridge Drive on Monday, October 14.

When and where did it happen? 

Emergency services locked down a block of flats in Maryhill's Wyndford estate late on Monday evening. 

Officers circulated on 9 Carrbridge Drive and on Tuesday confirmed they were treating the death as "suspicious".

Who is the victim?

The victim is 45-year-old Steven Clark.

He is also known as Steven Robinson. 

Have any arrests been made?

On Tuesday evening the force revealed that a 19-year-old had been arrested in connection with the death. 

But he was released from custody on Wednesday pending further enquiries. 

When did police treat the case as murder?

Squads of officers descended again on Carrbridge Drive just after 11am on Wednesday.

They began searching drains and other areas such as bins and bushes.

A few hours following this investigation, detectives revealed they were treating the suspicious death as murder.

They are now appealing for anyone with information, including taxi or fast-food drivers who were in the area at the time, to come forward.

Detective chief inspector Stevie Wallace of the major investigation team said: “Extensive police inquiries are ongoing in Carrbridge Drive at this time. Officers are gathering CCTV footage from the surrounding area to provide more information that will help us trace the person or persons responsible.

"I would ask anyone who was in the Maryhill area of Glasgow between midnight, Sunday into Monday and 8pm on Monday night, and who may have seen or heard a disturbance, witnessed any strange activity or anyone acting out of character to please get in touch with us.

"I would also appeal directly to any taxi or fast-food delivery drivers who may have been working in the area that night.

"If you encountered anyone suspicious or had collections or drop off's there during this period please to report it to us."
