An Ayrshire man left in a coma after a random attack in Ibiza has revealed he was sent a letter from an Arsenal star while he recovers.

Gavin Roberton, 26, from Stewarton was left in intensive care after a one-punch assault while at an ATM in the Spanish island in August.

He suffered a fractured skull as well as bleeding a bruising on his brain.

More than £40,000 was raised to cover medical bills and fly him home at the end of September.
