A Glasgow street has been closed off this morning amid an ongoing police incident.

Emergency services were called to South Scott Street in Baillieston shortly after 5am.

A 27-year-old has been taken to hospital following a disturbance in a property on the street.

An investigation has since been launched to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Commuters on some First Glasgow bus services have been disrupted as a result of the police presence.

They apologised on Twitter, posting: "Due to a police incident South Scott Street Baillieston is closed.

"The 2 is currently affected and will continue to Main St, down to Swinton roundabout & return via Main Street in both directions.

"We apologise for any inconvenience".

And pupils for St Ambrose High, who normally travel on the McNairn's bus to school from the South Scott Street stop are being urged to go to Muirhead Road or the corner of Caledonia Road. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "Officers are in attendance at a property on South Scott Street following reports of a disturbance at 5.20am this morning.

"A 27-year-old man has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

"His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

"Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances."
