It might only be October, but it seems like Glasgow is getting into the festive spirit already.

The hotly anticipated Christmas lights switch-on is less than a month away, with the council already taking steps to get things perfect for Santa coming to town.

They shared a picture on social media of workers high above the square, sparking a flurry of comments from locals.

One commented "Gets earlier every year" and another said "It's October! grrr."

However the council quickly responded: "It does take time to put all the lights up, so the square looks perfect. Need to start early".
