Celtic legend Chris Sutton has hit out at Lazio fans who made fascist salutes in Glasgow ahead of tonight's Europe League match.

Dozens of fans were captured on video marching down Buchanan Street making Nazi salutes on their way to their clash with Celtic this evening.

A strong police presence could be seen as around 700 Lazio fans walked to Parkhead.

And former striker Sutton says those taking part in the actions should have been turned away at the gates.

Sharing footage of a group heading down Buchanan Street, the BT Sport pundit said on Twitter: "Abhorrent...Shouldn’t be allowed inside Celtic Park..."

His sentiment was backed by ex-Arsenal player Kevin Campbell, who slammed those in the video.

He said: "See when certain fans do things like this they should be turned around and sent home. Disgraceful"

Italian Special Operations officers were drafted in to the city ahead of tonight's match to prevent violence.

It comes after Lazio pleaded with fans to behave in Glasgow, and issued a zero-tolerance approach to any racist abuse directed at opposing players.

Uefa recently ordered them to close part of their stadium over supports' facist gestures and racist chants.

Ahead of the match, Police Scotland Chief Superintendent Alan Murray said: “We look forward to welcoming Lazio supporters.
