Two angry mums have each been fined £200 for a street bust-up.

Julie-Ann Folan, 25, and Amanda Jackson, 34, had a fight in Glasgow's Drumchapel in July this year.

It was sparked after a row over children Jackson knew.

The pair - who fell into a hedge during the row - both ended up hurt.

The incident landed them in the dock today at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

They pled guilty to engaging in a stand up fight and committing a breach of the peace.

Jackson earlier had an argument with Folan's mum.

Folan then got involved before the incident became physical.

Prosecutor Lesley Chambers said: “When they started fighting they fell into a hedge.

“Following the fight, Jackson had a cut to her head while Folan injured her right leg.”

The two mums eventually had to be separated.

Both went on to blame each other for what happened.

Jackson's lawyer Ann McKinlay told the court: “Some threats and unpleasant comments were made to the children which led to this falling out.”

Harvie Diamond, defending Folan, said she had acted "foolishly" that day.

Sheriff Barry Divers reduced the fine for the women, both of Drumchapel, from £250 due to the guilty pleas.
