SINGER Lewis Capaldi has been nominated for a songwriting award at this year's Specsavers Scottish Music Awards.

The star, best known for hit Someone You Loved, will be in the running for the King Tut's Songwriting Award.

Musician Auntie Flo is also nominated for the Electronic Music Award while Dundee songwriter Be Charlotte is in the running for the Evolution Award.

The awards, now in their 21st year, will take place on November 30.

Speaking about the nomination, Lewis Capaldi said: “Thank you all so much for the nomination!

"All I ever thought about growing up was to sell-out King Tut’s so to be nominated for the King Tut's Songwriter Award this year is unreal!

"The first-ever award I got given was the Breakthrough at the 2017 Scottish Music Awards, and I’m a big fan of the work that Nordoff Robbins does, so it’s a real honour to be nominated again!"
