A POPULAR coffee shop has made moves to take over an empty unit that once housed sandwich chain Eat.
Caffe Nero has submitted to planning applications into Glasgow City Council for the unit on 31 to 33 Gordon Street.
They have asked for listed building consent for internal and external alternations. They also want consent to display their signage.

The move comes after Eat closed down its Glasgow operations last year. At the time Eat said they wanted to focus on their London stores.
Caffe Nero runs more than 1000 coffee shops in eleven countries. Drawings accompanying the plans show the new coffee shop will span over two levels.
A decision is expected on the proposal by city planners by January 6 and the last date for comments is December 6.
