Two people have been taken to hospital after a three-car crash on the Clydeside Expressway.

Emergency crews were called to the busy road shortly after 5pm, at which point the road was closed westbound.

It's thought the incident occurred near to where the expressway bridges over the roundabout at Dumbarton Road

Traffic Scotland shared a CCTV image from the scene showing traffic at a standstill queuing back towards the Riverside Museum.

Two casualties were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital as a precaution.

Fire crews left the scene at around 6.10pm - at which point it is thought the road was reopened.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed: "Appliances were mobilised to a three-car road traffic collision on the A814 around 5.11pm.

"Two casualties were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

"Our final appliance left the scene around 6.10pm."

A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: "At around 5.10pm, we were called to reports of a three-car road traffic collision on the A814 westbound.

"Emergency services attended the incident.

"The Scottish Fire and Rescue service blocked two lanes near Sawmill Road."
