TWO thugs attacked a man in Govan leaving him with a nasty head injury.

The victim, 45, was pounced on Summertown Road between 6 pm and 7 pm on Wednesday.

Police investigating say the attack was unprovoked, and the victim required hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Paul Hendry, of Govan CID, said: “I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed this incident.

“This was a totally unprovoked attack on a member of the public who has since received medical treatment to a nasty head injury."

The force released a description of men they wish to speak to.

Both men are aged between 18 to 23 with local accents. The first man was wearing a burgundy top and light coloured trousers. The second man was of heavy build and wearing a light blue top.

DC Hendry added: "I would ask anyone who has saw any suspicious behaviour in the Summertown Road area of Govan on the night of Wednesday, 13 November 2019, or who knows who is responsible, to contact police as soon as possible.”
