An urgent warning has been put out by police after a pensioner was conned out of thousands of pounds by a bogus workman.

In September, a 73-year-old man from Bishopton in Renfrewshire was excessively charged for roofing by a cruel conman - to the value of £28,000.

On Thursday, November 14, after significant work by the force's Financial Investigation Unit, a 51-year-old man from Glasgow was arrested and reported for alleged fraud.
