AS many as 20,000 pensioners in Glasgow are not claiming the pension credit they are entitled to, according to the Govan Law Centre (GLC).

The group are calling on the public to speak up on Talk Money week – a national campaign running this week.

People are being urged to seek help and discuss an money issues they have.

Wendy Malloy, GLC senior advisor, said: “We are asking people to talk to parents, grandparents and other older people in their family, about whether they are claiming all the benefits they are entitled to. And there are many organisations in Glasgow that can offer services to people to help them claim or even help them is there are having money problems.

“We know that one of the hardest things for our clients has been to reach out and ask for help. During Talk Money week, we would encourage those who are worried to take the first step and speak up.”
