LABOUR could win back most of the Glasgow Westminster seats at the next election according to new polling research.
The SNP have been dominant in the city since they took all seven seats in 2015, losing only one (North East) briefly, between 2017 and 2019.
Analysis by YouGov, however, puts Labour on track to take all but one of the seats in the next election, likely to be next year.
YouGov has Labour winning Glasgow North, North East, North West, East, South and Glasgow Central (which is due to disappear under boundary changes).
Only Chris Stephens, in South West, would retain his seat if the prediction was to be realised and give Labour a win in the city at a General or Scottish election for the first time since 2010.
Across Scotland, Anas Sarwar’s party would make gains taking 23 seats from the SNP who would drop to 27 from the 48 they won in 2019.
The Conservatives would see Scottish leader Douglas Ross lose his Westminster seat.
The poll puts Labour on course for a comeback in their traditional heartlands of Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and Fife.
