A much-loved care home nurse in North Glasgow has retired after nearly 22 years.

Much-loved charge nurse Margaret Grandison has decided to retire after over two decades at Four Hills care home in Ruchill.

Staff and residents at the home popped champagne and sent Margaret off in style with presents to thank her for her many years of dedication during an afternoon tea party.

Relatives and staff both past and present attended to give Margaret a marvellous send-off.

They revelled in their fond memories of Margaret, who will "be sadly missed by all".

Glasgow Times:

During her time at Four Hills, Margaret has been a nurse before progressing to become the charge nurse of the Maryhill unit.

"Margaret has always shown massive commitment and dedication to providing the highest level of care and support to not only our residents but also to their families and has inspired lots of carers moving on to be wonderful nurses thanks to her mentorship," says her colleagues.

Margaret said: “Four Hills is like a family to me and though I’m looking forward to retirement, I’m really going to miss everyone here so much!”

Eleanor Wilson, general manager at Four Hills, said: “Margaret is one of those people who was born to care for others – she has such a huge heart and was greatly loved by the individuals living at Four Hills Care Home.

"She was an inspiration to her colleagues and we will all miss her. We wish her all the best!”
