A joker is attempting to cash in on the wintry weather - by selling buckets of snow.

Cheeky Scott Robertson, 48, says his phone has not stopped buzzing since he posted a sales ad for the white stuff on Wednesday evening.

The 48-year-old from Airdrie posted the hilarious ad using Facebook's Marketplace feature.

Glasgow Times:

It allows users of the website to buy and sell items with people in their local area.

Scott's ad simply reads: "£1 a bucket load. As much as you want. Pick up Scotland."

Some of the more interesting requests have included whether he ships to Australia, if he could guarantee the snow would last - and whether the snow came in different colours.

Glasgow Times:

Others resorted to haggling over the low price before losing their interest.

The ad has been viewed more than 10,000 times on the social media site and Scott said he got a fresh batch of snow late on Thursday.

He joked: "I've had one offer of £2.5 million but they backed out when I asked for cash up front. You should sell snow, there's a fortune to be made.

"I only did it for a laugh.

"My phone has not stopped buzzing since I posted it. I've gotten three messages every minute since it went up. Sadly, I am being serious there.

"I got fresh, new stock late on Thursday night."
