SCISSOR Sister Jake Shears cheekily implied that Britney Spears was a robot during his trip to Glasgow.

I’ve met the brilliant Jake before and even partied with him and Ana Matronic in Dublin along with Paolo Nutini for St Arthur’s Day.

I’ve danced with him too at The Brits after party and that boy can boogie.

He’s a cool guy and he spent ages with fans following his gig with Mr Hudson at the Garage venue.

He was in town the same night as Britney Spears, so I asked him, naturally, if he was going to party with her.

He replied: “I don’t know if Britney parties. Doesn’t she just go back to her hotel room and go....zzzzz ? Someone just switches her button to the off position...”

Jake, on the other hand, was looking for a party. I left him and Mr Hudson to walk around Sauchiehall Street after recommending a few locations.

Mr Hudson, who’d been shopping earlier in the day, told me he loved Glasgow and that the crowd were so loud he was forced to turn his amp up during the gig.

Mastering miming

I WAS chatting Britney with Tom Urie as he stood in for Kaye Adams on BBC Scotland.

I love a wee trip to BBC HQ for an impromptu bit of broadcasting. The only thing is, I’ve learned to cover my head when I’m going in cause it can get a bit windy by the Clydeside.

I was on with David Scott from the band The Pearlfishers and he was
on down the line.

It was great to see Tom as we chatted whether lip synching was acceptable on stage. I told him that I’ve seen a lot of pop artists do it ... it’s just that Britney doesn’t know how to mime very well.
