Cancer treatment was first class

In regard to the story of cancer patients waiting times (Evening Times, June 28 ), I feel it is a rather sad tale about the efficiency of NHSGGC.

However it must also be said that the 83% who were treated within the guideline are fortunate, myself included.

I was diagnosed with mouth cancer in April of 2016, and by 31st May I had received an operation to remove the tumour.

While I still had to attend The Beatson for radiotherapy as an outpatient, the treatment I received , both in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital ( for the op ), and The Beatson, was excellent and the staff at both were first class.

Campaign praise

Well done to the Evening Times for campaigning for so long to get a change in the organ donation laws. I, for one, welcome this news and hope that others in Glasgow will support the new system. I think it's a crying shame that so many people die every day because there are no organs available, when in reality I think many of us would not mind having our organs used to give others life after we die. This change in the law really does show the power that newspaper campaigns can have and I congratulate everyone involved in this at Evening Times HQ,

Reduce bus fines

The first step in regeneration of Glasgow should be to reduce the high parking charges and fines of people inadvertently straying into into Bus Lanes.

As I warned years ago would happen, the Council has driven people away from shopping in Glasgow because of these.

I also know of foreign tourists who have vowed never to return to Glasgow because of bus lane fines.

Jannies woes

With regards to the story about janitors feeling disappointed about delays in a pay deal (Evening Times, June 29) I have made comment on this before.

When Labour were the council, I asked why do the jannies union donate money to a political party that wants to enslave them.?Well now again we have the jannies being treated like, for want of a better word disrespectfully.

There are a few questions I would be asking - first of all who set up this company, Cordia, and who runs it? Why was it set up? If I was a jannie I would be asking my union rep to “ get me answers”.
