MORTON boss Allan Moore has offered a trial to English-born Japanese star Ryan Hirooka as he looks to bolster his squad for next season's First Division campaign.

Right-sided midfield ace Hirooka started his career south of the border with Eastbourne Borough and also turned out for Brentford, Ramsgate and Lewes before moving to Portugal with lower league outfit Gandara.

He spent last season on the books of Japanese side JEF United Chiba.

Hirooka had a 10-day training stint with Moore's side last season and has now been invited to join the Ton during their pre-season schedule in a bid to win a deal at Cappielow for the new campaign.

Moore said: "He sent me through his CV at the end of last season and was quite willing to pay his own way so we invited him in."
